My Surgery Website is closing: what your practice needs to do before 31 March 2027

By Sreeni, Editor · Last reviewed 16 October 2026 · 6 minute read

MySurgery.site isn’t connected to My Surgery Website. We’re a separate company with a similar name, and we’re not its successor. This guide uses My Surgery Website’s own notice and published prices, linked below, so you can check every fact.

What’s happening

FPM Group, which runs My Surgery Website, has told practices that every agreement ends on 31 March 2027, and that it stops providing all My Surgery Website services from that date. It says three things practices need to know:

  • Your website will not transfer to a new supplier automatically.
  • If you do nothing, your website stops working when the service closes.
  • You choose a new supplier, agree a contract with them directly, then tell FPM Group who you’ve chosen.

FPM Group names one proposed provider, but says you’re free to choose any supplier. Patients rely on your website for opening times, prescriptions and urgent help, so it’s worth choosing carefully rather than quickly.

Your timeline, worked back from 31 March 2027

Every My Surgery Website practice has the same deadline, so suppliers will get busier as it gets closer. Aim to be live on your new site at least three weeks before the closure date.

  1. Now to December 2026: find out who is listed as the administrator of your .nhs.uk address (our .nhs.uk domain guide explains how), list what’s on your current site, and save anything you need to keep.
  2. By the end of January 2027: choose your new supplier, sign with them, and tell FPM Group who you’ve chosen.
  3. February 2027: check your new site on a private preview link. Your old site stays live while you do.
  4. Early March 2027: your new supplier moves your .nhs.uk address to the new site. That leaves a few weeks to fix anything that goes wrong before 31 March 2027.

What to save before it closes

My Surgery Website’s G-Cloud listing says that when a subscription ends, your data is archived and then securely deleted after a set period, and that form and survey results export as PDF files. Before 31 March 2027, save:

  • Form and survey submissions you need to keep for your records
  • Policies, leaflets and documents you can’t find anywhere else
  • News, team details and practice information you’d like on your new site
  • A list of every link to an outside service, like online consultation and repeat prescriptions

What My Surgery Website cost, and what we cost

My Surgery Website’s published prices had a £1,000 setup fee, then a yearly licence from £550 to £900 plus VAT, or from £350 a year if you committed for five years. Here’s how its published terms compare with ours.

My Surgery Website’s figures are its list prices and terms from its G-Cloud 14 pricing document (April 2024) and Digital Marketplace listing, checked 16 October 2026. Your practice may have paid a different rate. MySurgery.site isn’t connected to My Surgery Website.

Practices that took the five-year rate to save money now find the service closing anyway. That’s worth remembering when you read your next contract.

What to check in your next contract

Whichever supplier you choose, read these five things before you sign.

  1. The full first-year cost. Add the setup fee, the yearly price and VAT. Your practice can’t usually reclaim VAT, so a price “plus VAT” costs you 20% more.
  2. How long you’re committing for. Cheaper multi-year rates tie you in. Ask what happens if the supplier changes its prices, is sold or stops the service.
  3. The notice period and renewal. Find out how many days’ notice you have to give, and whether the contract renews on its own. Put the date in your calendar now.
  4. How you leave. Can you download all your pages and documents, not just form results? Will they help move your .nhs.uk address? Is there a leaving fee?
  5. Who does the work. Ask who writes and updates the pages, and whether the supplier checks your site against the GP contract and NHS England’s 50-criterion benchmark. A cheap site your team has to write and police isn’t cheap.

Questions

When does My Surgery Website stop working?

My Surgery Website's owner, FPM Group, says every practice's agreement ends on 31 March 2027 and it stops providing all My Surgery Website services from that date. If you do nothing, your website stops working then.

Will our website move to a new supplier automatically?

No. FPM Group says websites won't transfer on their own. You choose a new supplier, agree a contract with them, and tell FPM Group who you've chosen.

Do we have to use the supplier My Surgery Website suggests?

No. FPM Group names one proposed provider but says you're free to choose any supplier.

Can we keep our .nhs.uk address?

Yes. Your .nhs.uk address belongs to your practice, not to My Surgery Website. Your new supplier points it at your new site on the day you switch.

What should we download before the site closes?

Anything you need to keep: form and survey submissions, policies and documents you can't find elsewhere, and any news you want to keep. My Surgery Website's G-Cloud listing says form results export as PDF files and that data is archived and then deleted after it closes, so download them before 31 March 2027.

Is MySurgery.site part of My Surgery Website?

No. We're a separate company with a similar name, and we're not their successor or partner.

How long does a switch to MySurgery.site take?

About three weeks from your first call. Your My Surgery Website site stays live until we move your domain, and you pay nothing until your old contract ends, for up to 90 days.

Correct as of October 2026. This guide reflects My Surgery Website's own closure notice and published prices at that date. Check the latest from FPM Group (linked above) before acting on it.
